Holiday OOTD

So for the last week I've been on holiday. It was so nice to have a break from everything. I think we all need one once in a while. One of my favourite things I did was climb a waterfall. I bet you're thinking that it sounds like exercise and totally not a fun thing to do on holiday. I actually really enjoyed it though! I climbed up Canonteign Falls and it's one of the tallest in England. It felt like an accomplishment and the view was so breathtaking.

I took some gorgeous photos up there and while I was there I thought I'd do an OOTD for you. Tessuti had kindly sent me a Calvin Klein T-shirt I was so desperate to wear as I'd been saving it until I got on holiday. If you haven't heard of Tessuti they sell designer clothing and accessories for men and women. I'm seriously lusting over so much from there at the moment... especially handbags!

It was great being able to mix a designer T-Shirt with more casual clothes. It was perfect for my holiday where I spent most of it relaxing!

What I'm wearing:
Black Zip Front Denim Skirt - New Look, £17.99

I really hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you'd like me to do more OOTD posts in the comments. Also make sure to go check out They have some really gorgeous clothing and accessories in at the moment! I promise you won't regret it.

Thank you,

Guest Blogger, Life As Tilly Rose: Summer Essentials

Hey everyone it's Tilly here from Life As Tilly Rose, we could all do with some guidance to help make our summer the best one yet, so that is why I've put together some things that are an absolute necessity for the summer! From makeup to cameras, hopefully you'll have an easy summer if you follow these steps, as these are things I've used without fail every summer!

This is something I use all year round just because I'm one of those weird, annoying people who can't sleep without an eye mask and wait for it... ear plugs! Don't ask how, I used to live next to noisy students when I was younger and the eye mask not sure the story behind that one! So as it's summer we have lighter evenings and the sun rises much earlier, which is nice but when you get woken up at 5:00 am it's not nice. That is why I suggest to wear one these before you go to bed so hopefully the light doesn't stop you sleeping in! Trust me you get used to them, they are heaven but you have to fond the right one - I've chucked out so many scratchy ones!

I'm sure everyone's summer is packed full of fun stuff and memories with friends and families, so why not capture those moments with a camera! This little Nikon Coolpix is my holiday camera, it's not the best but it does the job I've got so many lovely holiday pictures that I love to look back on or print out. Also just snapping the moments on your phone is great as there are lots of apps out there that allow you to print photos straight from your phone. My favourite is Lalalab you can get £5 off with my code: PG78SQFF, it's so cute you can print little Polaroids (see pic above), which is what I did because unfortunately I don't have a Polaroid camera :( check out my review on the app.

SPF is sooo important and I hope we all know that, it will be very handy this summer in England seeing as the weather is so lush at the moment. With previous experiences I can't use ordinary sun cream on my face as it stings like crazy so I have to use cream specifically for the face, my favourite is No7's Advanced Facial Sun because it has anti ageing properties in it (not that I need it) and honestly it leaves your skin so smooth! Then for my form of coverage I love the Forever Living aloe bb creme, it has an SPF of 20 which is great and I feel confident if I'm out in the sun as I know my face is protected. Making sure your lips are protected is just as important because people always forget about this and end up burning them (me in the past!), that is why I always make sure whatever I am wearing on my lips consists of an SPF in it.

Unless you want to get heatstroke and pass out this summer drinking water is key! I always find this easier when I have a nice bottle or sippy cup, this one is a cute milk bottle from Tiger Stored I love it, other places to get these from at the moment are New Look, Primark and online. I try to drink at least three of these a day, but most of the time more is accomplished for me as I tend to drink lots of water. So just remember to keep on drinking!

Everyone needs a good pair of sunnys to get them through the summer. I'm loving the 1930s Rayban Gatsby style sunglasses at the moment, I think they look really cool. Personally I'm a tortoise shell/leopard print (whatever you want to call it) fan and prefer that colour. My sunglasses are from Coconut Lane a trendy, chic online store, for 20% off use the code: tillrose20 I adore this company!

It's all about the summer glow so that is why I included this gorgeous golden highlighter from makeup revolution, it's so good. Most of the time when I wear my makeup in the summer I always make sure I powder to reduce the horrendous shine, therefore I like to put a but of glow back into my skin with a highlighter.

When boredom strikes I like to pick up an interesting book or magazine and start reading it, I prefer magazines because I'm not a great book lover and I tend to get bored half way through it in fact I don't think I've ever finished a book, how embarrassing! So that is why I love gossips commercial magazines. Also why not listen to some music whilst reading or just at the poolside whilst your baking your skin away (hopefully with your SPF on!). No summer is a summer without relaxing, reading magazines and listening to music.

Shoes that will keep you looking trendy but also cool at the same time are very important for the summer. There's nothing worse than walking around with sweaty hot feet, that's why I suggest Birkenstock style as they are so comfy and keep your feet moderately cool. I'm loving this style at the moment, Office have similar items in the sale at under/around £20 as well as ASOS I know do many types of Birks'.

That's all for my summer essentials, if you enjoyed reading this then please check out my blog 'Life As Tilly Rose' where you can find delicious smoothie recipes, seasonal fashion trends, beauty reviews and many more!

Instagram Favourites

More than likely if I'm not on twitter then I'm on instagram. I love the idea of instagram. I've always got my camera with me when I'm going out in case there is something I want to photograph. I love that I now have a social media platform to share that on. I love that looking back on your instagram account is like looking back at all the memories you've made. I've always loved photography!

This month I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite instagram accounts that I've been loving this month.
I'm in actual love with Adele's instagram. I mean to be honest I'm in love with Adele in general really. I just think all of the photos on Adele's instagram are so special. In case you haven't seen Adele's account there is usually a photo posted to represent each concert date. I've seen Adele live and it was such a special night. When I look at these photos it fills me with happiness about the amazing night I had. I just think her whole instagram tells such a beautiful story about life on tour.

Victoria - InTheFrow
Victoria's instagram recently has been giving me serious inspiration to go travel. She's taken some absolutely stunning photos on her travels that make me want to hop on a plane right now to a hot country. All of her photos are just gorgeous colours and they compliment each other so well. I'm truly in love! I could spend all day scrolling through her photos!

Grace Ciao
I've been following her instagram for quite a while now. Grace is a fashion illustrator. She uses flower petals etc. to create gorgeous illustrations. If you're a fashion lover like me definitely go and check her illustrations out. They're truly stunning and unique!

Olivia - What Olivia Did
I've always taken inspiration from Olivia's photos. I mean my photos will never be as good or even close haha. What Olivia Did was one of the first blogs I ever really read religiously. I've always admired the gorgeous photos on her blog and instagram. She was one of my blogging inspirations when I started my blog. Definitely go check her account and her blog!

I hope you enjoyed this post! I've been loving instagram a lot recently. After getting my new camera I haven't stopped messing around with the settings. If you want to check out my instagram I'll link it below!

A Letter To My Younger Self

Dear Alice,

We're only a few weeks away from turning 19 years old. I bet that's sounds like a lifetime away from when you're reading this. Trust me though the older you get the quicker time goes. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Just really make sure you hold on to every moment every minute in life and make the most of it.

It's nearly a whole year since school finished forever now... I'm not sure how time has gone so fast. I know the thought of leaving school terrifies you. The comfort of knowing what you're going to be doing each day makes will be gone and that makes you nervous. I promise you that you'll be ok though. Make the most of your time at school. Don't let what people say get you down! Don't let them hold you back from what you love because trust me you'll regret it when you're older. I'm not going to sugar coat it you're really going to through some shit in high school. It'll make you stronger though. It'll make you twice the person that you used to be. Just don't worry too much and don't let silly things get you. In the end those things and those people are not going to be worth your time at all.

Keep on spreading your love as far and as wide as you can. Remember to tell the people you love that you love them regularly. You never know how much longer you might have to tell them you love them. Keep your family close like you always have. Look after them all like I know you will because they're the most important people in your life.

Please don't worry about your friends. The friends you have will change so much over time and that's totally okay. You're going to grow out of friends and find new ones. I promise you'll find friends that you know you'll have for life.

Don't worry too much about what you're going to do in the future! Trust me there really is no rush. You don't need to stress endlessly over it! We actually do some pretty cool things you've really got to look forward to. Things you never would've imagined that we'd be doing. It's exciting and scary and we have the best time!

I'm sat here writing this today and thinking just how much we've grown as a person. How I'm proud of all the changes you'll make growing up. Your younger years hold some of the most precious memories. I promise we're making some pretty cool ones now as well. Don't ever give up and always stand by what you believe in. That's what will get you here! The hope that you've always held with you. Keep trying new things, keep having fun and most of all keep laughing! Who knows how are future will go? But I'm pretty excited.

I know we'll make it and I know we'll be amazing.

Tanya Burr 'Soft Luxe' Collection

(L-R Martha Moo & Rhubarb & Custard)

So in case you didn't know Tanya Burr released a new collection recently. The new collection is called 'Soft Luxe' collection. I was so excited on the release day and as soon as I saw the products on Tanya's blog post I knew I needed to purchase something.

I opted to go and order two of the liquid matte lipsticks. If you see my tweets on twitter you'll know I'm obsessed with liquid lipsticks. I got the shades 'Martha Moo' & 'Rhubarb & Custard'. I thought I'd let you know my thoughts on these and how I got on with them.

This is the shade 'Rhubarb & Custard'. I'm not going to lie I wasn't sure if I was going to like the shade on me. Personally I tend to go for the darker pinks and reds rather than bright pinks. I surprisingly loved this though! It's a colour that I would generally wear on a daily basis but would also wear on a night out. It has dual purpose for me really. I especially can't wait to wear this product when I've got a bit of a tan. I just think it would look really nice with bronzed skin.

This is the shade 'Martha Moo'. Hands down my favourite liquid lipstick I've purchased so far. I'm IN LOVE and I'm actually serious! I've worn this practically everyday since I got it. It's such a natural colour and perfect for everyday wear. I've never found a shade of liquid lipstick I could wear for work that I felt comfortable with. Honestly though this is perfect and definitely my go to lip product now! I'd definitely try this shade if you're new to trying lipsticks I think it's a good natural shade to start with!

Overall I'm so impressed with these! They are long lasting which is all you can ask for. I found myself not needing to top up throughout the day. Both were really easy to apply which is a good job because I am definitely not an expert when applying make up! They are also only £5.99 so totally affordable and worth it. Also as weird as it may sound... they smell so nice. I'm not even joking they smell like marshmallows I used to eat as a child haha.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
I'll leave all the links below to Tanya's blog and where you can purchase the new 'Soft Luxe' collection.

Homeware Lust List

So I've basically been loving all homeware this past couple of weeks! I've been preparing to paint my old bedroom... finally! I've been wanting to get round to it for ages. It hasn't been decorated since I was 11 years old and I can't stand at nearly 19 years old now to look at the pink walls any longer.

I've also been looking around at flats to rent. I can no way afford one yet though. Especially considering I'm looking at moving to Brighton or London in the future. Looking at the flats has really got me inspired to do some decorating.

I've found lots of new sites and places I didn't know before to purchase homeware. I'm lusting over so much homeware at the moment! I did manage to shorten the list down. I thought I'd share my favourite pieces that I'm loving at the moment.

1. A4 Black Light Box, £40, I absolutely love these and was so happy to find one! I love the thought of having this on my desk while I'm working. Plus you can change what is displayed on the light box when you want as it comes with the letters. I know I'll changing it up and putting cute quotes on it every week.

2. Copper Wall Clock, £30, so this is probably on the more pricey side for a clock. Honestly though I've had a Winnie The Pooh clock since I was 3 years old and it's definitely time for a change. I'm also obsessed with the look of copper. Also I have a thing for typography and I love the font used on this clock.

3. Desk Organiser, £8, I'm the most unorganised person EVER. I'm being serious my desk is a mess full of paper and pens. I fell in love with this desk organiser. I'm a sucker for a cute quote. Plus having a desk organiser may motivate me a little more to tidy away instead of leaving everything lying around... oops.

4. Copper 5x7 Photo Frame, £12, I have a huge stack of photos which I have never done anything with! Some of these photos hold such special memories. Sticking with the copper theme I love this frame. It's pretty simple and I think if you had a few of these lined up it'd look so good. Plus for the price they are very good value.

5. 'Hello Beautiful' Cushion, I love to have a pile of cushions at the bottom of my bed. They don't really have much purpose other than they look nice really! I thought this would be a nice one to add to my collection. I only really have block colour pillows so it'll be nice to add one with a quote.

6. Dip Dye Vase, £25, I absolutely love this. I think the dip dye affect looks so good! I'm trying to keep a fresh bunch of flowers in my room from now on. I just think it brightens up the room. I'll definitely be using this vase to hold them. It will look lovely in front of my window!

7. 'Oh You Pretty Thing' Trinket Dish, I saw this at the 'Bloggers Summer Hangout' where Sass & Belle had some of their products on show. I fell in love with it. I don't have a particular place to put my jewellery it is kind of lying around on a table. When I saw this I knew I needed it. I have this one ring that is really special to me. I'm forever panicking when I can't find it. I thought I could use this trinket dish to store all my rings so I don't lose them!

I hope you enjoyed this post and loved all the homeware as much as I did!
I'll definitely be updating on twitter how decorating my room is going so make sure you follow me!

Let me know in the comments where you think is the best place to purchase homeware; I'd love to know.
