10 Beauty Products Under £10 I Want To Try

Hello darlings,
March is such a busy month for me! Between work, blogging and events I’m not sure when I’m going to find the time to do anything else but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It does mean though that I’m going to be a little bit strapped for cash this month. Travelling is so expensive these days.

However I can’t seem to ever go through a month where I don’t try new makeup products. As I’m not going to have a lot to spend this month I thought I consist a list of 10 beauty products I’d like to try that are under £10! So if you’re on a small budget these are definitely for you to try. So I’ve searched all different websites to look for the products I want to try most:

NYX Professional Makeup Studio Finishing Powder, £8.00

Collection #BlushAndGlow Blush Palette, £4.99

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pans, £6.00

Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer, £7.00

Revolution Renaissance Lipstick Renew, £4.00

Zoeva Graphic Eyes, £7.00

I will be doing a part 2 for this post where I’ll review all of the products I’ve listed and whether they were worth the buy. If you have tried any of the products let me know what you though of them! Also let me know in the comments what beauty products you’re lusting over at the moment.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post,

Valentines Day Make-Up Look

Hello sweethearts! So it’s Valentines Day this week… A day I can’t quite tell if I love or hate. I have conflicting feelings about a day all about expressing love. Maybe I’m just a cynic around this time of the year haha. I’m living up the single life after a recent failed relationship so I’m going to treat myself on Valentines Day this year… Please tell me I’m not the only one!

I’ve seen a lot of Valentines make-up tutorials this year and I thought I’d give it a go. A lot of people seem to be getting way more into Valentines Day this year. I’m honestly not an expert in make-up but I’m slowly getting better! This is a pretty easy and simple look but I absolutely love and I’ll definitely be wearing it on Valentines. I’ve included all the products I used below.

Eyes:
– Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Quad in Plum, Pink (Base Colour) for crease
– Colourpop Matte Eye Shadow in Shop for outer corner
– Sleek Diamonds In The Rough Eyeshadow Palette, Solitaire for inner corner, Princess for lid & Marquise for outer corner

Face:
– Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 001
– Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent 001

Lips:
– Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Heather Shimmer 066

I really hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know how you feel about me doing more make-up looks. I know I’m only starting out but hopefully with practice I’ll get a lot better.
Let me know in the comments what you’re doing with your loved one this Valentines Day or what you’re doing to treat yourself if you’re a singleton like me!

Handbag Essentials

Hello my darlings, I thought it had to be about time I did a handbag essentials post! I love to organise my bag all the time… I’m not sure why. I think I like the thought that I have everything I could ever need with me haha. I pretty much own Mary Poppins bag I have that much stuff. I promise I’ve narrowed it down to my absolute essentials that I definitely wouldn’t leave without!

Deodorant
For the obvious reasons I won’t leave without a can of deodorant… I don’t want to smell ever! If I ever go on a long walk or I’m on the tube and it’s really hot I’m going to need to use some. I always use Dove’s Aerosol Deodorant personally and you can get a travel size one from Superdrug which is the perfect size for storing in our handbag.

Body Mist/Perfume
I always carry body mist or perfume with me again because I obviously want to smell nice. I always use it in the morning but the smell obviously tends to ware off in the day so I like it on hand to spritz some more. My current pick for my handbag is Zoella’s Sweet Inspirations Body Mist. It’s my favourite smell I’m sure you will have seen me mention it before. The bottles aren’t too big and I can usually find space to store it in my handbag.

Hand Sanitiser
Hand sanitiser is a necessity for my handbag for hygiene reasons and I will not leave without it. If I have to use a public toilet or if I’m travelling a lot on the tube it’ll be the thing I reach out of my handbag most. I currently have a bottle of Zoella Hand Of Heart Hand Gel. Perfect size for my handbag and also the nicest smelling hand sanitiser you’ll ever own… Trust me!

Tissues
Tissues are always handy and honestly you never know if you’re going to need one so best be prepared. If not for you someone else will always need one and I feel better being able to offer them out. I always buy the 6 packs of tissues from the supermarket as obviously it’s not practical to carry around a whole box!

Powder
Thankfully I’ve never forgotten my powder before because honestly who wants a shiny face! I haven’t got oily skin so I don’t get too shiny. However I prefer powdering halfway through the day just to make sure especially on my T-zone etc. I always take the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent. It’s honestly the best powder I’ve ever used and it’s totally affordable!

Mascara
I can’t be the only one that’s guilty of leaving it really late to get ready am I? I’m sure I’m not but it means sometimes I don’t get a chance to do my make-up before I leave. I’m not really bothered about face make-up on these days but I have to wear mascara to feel alive haha. Meaning I always carry one as I have now mastered the art of doing my mascara on the train, tube… Anywhere! My current favourites are Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara & Volumeyes Plus Active Mascara.

Mirror
Again I always need a mirror because I pretty much always do my make-up on the train now. I currently have a gorgeous one from Ted Baker which I’m not sure is available anymore. Alternatively there are beautiful copper compact mirrors from Primark available still for only £1… I literally own about 5 of them!

Hand Cream
This is one of those hand bag essentials that I only carry in the colder months. I don’t really ever need to reach for hand cream in the summer but in the winter my hands need it to survive. I’m currently using Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream. I absolutely love this hand cream! It’s one of those products it smells so good you just want to eat it.

Lipstick
I love my lipsticks but sometimes I honestly don’t bother putting one on only to regret it halfway through the day. I always keep my most used and loved lipsticks in my handbag for one of those days. My favourites are Tanya Burr Lipstick in Pink Cocoa  & Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Tulle.

Sunglasses
I carry my sunglasses around all year round because somehow I’ve gotten into the habit of wearing them when it’s not even sunny… I mean I’m not sure it’s very socially acceptable but it’s fashion right?! I only own one pair of sunglasses because they’re prescription ones and I can’t see with normal ones so these go everywhere with me haha.

Moleskine & Pen
If you don’t know what a Moleskine is it’s basically a journal or mini sketchbook. I always carry around an A5 Moleksine with me. If you didn’t know I studied art and I still like to draw and explore the concept of art even now. I always make sure I have a pen so I can start doodling. I find being out and about can be the most inspiring for me when it comes to art ideas.

Hairbands & Hairbrush
I’ve got super long hair so on a windy or rainy day I always desperately need a hair brush. I’ll stand in more than likely a public toilet trying to desperately pull my hairbrush through my tangled and knotted hair and when I finally do it looks absolutely awful. I know it’s a glamorous image isn’t it?! So I always keep a hairband in their to tie it up if it comes to desperate measures!

Headphones
I can’t function properly without headphones. I mean to be honest I travel a lot of places alone meaning I haven’t got anyone to talk too. So I need my headphones for music or audio books to keep me sane because I can’t handle silence it’s way too awkward for me.

Phone Charger
I carry a phone charger the obvious reason that I always constantly use my phone when I’m out. So much that I have to find a café or somewhere with a plug available to charge it. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve had to ask at a train station if they have a plug I can charge my phone in… It’s always embarrassing every time I have to ask.

Purse

Ok so I don’t actually ever see many people mention their purse in their handbag essentials… But I mean it has my money in and I can’t really do anything without that haha.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! I’d love to know in the comments what you think classes as an essential and what your handbag essentials are! I honestly think I carry way too much in handbag but I’m always overly organised to go anywhere… It can’t just be me, is it?!

Top Liquid Lipsticks Of 2016

I’ve recently started to clear out all of my make-up; I thought with it being the new year it was the perfect time to start sorting everything. I’m going to be moving it all into new storage because my current storage is bulging! I’m not sure how I’ve managed to acquire quite that amount of make-up over the last few months… But oh well haha!

I noticed when clearing up my make-up collection I have quite the large variety of liquid lipsticks. I mean so large I think I have a problem haha. I absolutely love liquid lipsticks and they are absolutely always my go to. I thought I’d share with you my top liquid lipstick picks from last year. These are the lipsticks I’ve literally worn out and worn daily because I love them so much. So without further ado here are my top liquid lipsticks of 2016:

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Matte Lip in Martha Moo
This is is my top pick out of all the liquid lipsticks I’ve mentioned. I absolutely love the formula and the pigmentation is great. Plus it smells like marshmallows! It literally lasts all day without me having to top the colour up. It’s just the perfect everyday shade for me! Tanya Burr cosmetics hands down topped it for me this year on the liquid lipstick front.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Liquid Lipstick in Grand Cru
I own a few of the Bourjois liquid lipsticks and I think they were the first brand I ever bought a liquid lipstick from. The formula is really great and not drying at all which I love especially. They are really easy to apply and the colour lasts a long day. I don’t usually find myself having to top this colour up. It’s such a gorgeous red with a pink undertone.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip in Avenue
My go to red from the Colour Pop liquid lipsticks. I loved this colour in the summer even if it is a darker red. I still like to rock the dark lips in the summer haha. I found that this colour looked perfect with a tan. I do find with Colour Pop sometimes they can be quite drying so it’s really up to you to try them if you have dry lips. They are super long lasting though! I find the applicators in the tubes one of the best. It makes application a lot easier and precise in my opinion.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip in Tulle
This was my ultimate winter colour for 2016. I wore it pretty much every chance I got from October to December haha. Such a gorgeous purple tones lipstick I absolutely love it! If you’re into a dark lip look definitely check this one out. Colour Pop as I mentioned above do some of the best liquid lipsticks around and so if you’ve never tried them give them a go. I know if you’re from the UK shipping can be expensive… But trust me it’s totally worth it!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Budapest
I saw so many people last year bang on about the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and I thought why not give them a go! Ever since I’ve bought my first one I’ve been growing a bit of a collection haha. This is one is my favourite of what I own so far. I love the names of all of the lip creams… Well done NYX on that one! The formula is like no other liquid lipstick I’ve ever tries and by far my favourite formula. It glides and applies so easy on the lips they fell really nice. The only downside is these aren’t very long lasting and you will have to top up the colour throughout the day. However ultimately this doesn’t bother me too much.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! Definitely go and check out all the products I mentioned if you’re as obsessed with liquid lipsticks as I am haha. If you have any recommendations for me leave them in the comments for me try this year.

Christmas Nails 2016 #21

So I’ve been waiting so long to do my Christmas nails this year! I have horrible tiny short nails so any occasion to dress my nails up I take. I thought it would be great to share what I’m doing with my nails this year. I haven’t been putting on fake nails and doing them for very long so I’m not claiming to be an expert but I’ll let you know all the products that I used below and what I thought of them.

Products I used:
– Elegant Touch Express Nails in Polished Red
– Tanya Burr Cosmetics Nail Polish in Sleigh Bells
– Tanya Burr Cosmetics Nail Polish in Glitters And Gold

I really didn’t use all that many products and I thought they came out really well! Elegant Touch nails are my go-to nails. I always find them super reliable and easy to do. Also they do express nails which is what I used this time. It means absolutely no glue at all! The nails have a sticky back so you just have to hold them down for 30 seconds. It’s so great because it literally takes no time at all. I used two Tanya Burr Cosmetic nail polishes over the top of my nails and it came out super well! I’m in love with these glitter nail polishes.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! I’d love to see some pictures of your festive or Christmas nails. Make sure to tag me on twitter @_alicetilly or on instagram @alice_tilly. I’m going to making more of an effort to do my nails more often from now on and in 2017. Let me know if you would like me to do more posts like or if you would like me to try some nail art.
